Strings & Guitar Faculty

MARK HAAP, electric guitar, acoustic guitar, bass guitar, mandolin, dulcimer and ukulele, has studied music from the age of eight. He has studied at the Guitar Institute of Technology in Hollywood, California, The National Guitar Summer Workshop in Connecticut and with many teachers from a wide variety of musical styles. You can find him playing at numerous venues around Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky.  He has been teaching privately for eight years. He has a BA and BS from Northern Kentucky University.  His main interests are rock, blues, ethnic music, world music and ancient music theory.

 

 

ANDREA PENDERGRASS, violin and viola, has a BM in violin performance from the University of Redlands, CA.  While studying at Redlands she gained experience teaching through the String Project, and she has had several years of experience teaching private violin and viola lessons and in addition to directing youth string classes.  Andrea has worked with students of all ages from pre-Kindergarten children to retired adults.  In addition, she has taught general music with the WhizKids Music program in Cincinnati and has a passion for sharing music with all ages.

 

 

ERIC SUTTON, guitar, currently resides in Fort Mitchell, Kentucky. He has studied guitar with Ed Vardimen, Bob Mercer and Chris Wilke.  He is currently in the process of obtaining a Bachelor of Music degree from Northern Kentucky University. Eric has participated in the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music classical guitar camps for several summers. In these camps Eric has played in master classes for well-known classical guitarists such as Carlos Perez (winner of many prestigious classical guitar competitions) and Stanley Yates (composer of a series of classical guitar arrangements published by Mel Bay publications).  Eric specializes in classical guitar but is comfortable teaching students of all ages and styles.
